Embarking on an extraordinary 12-year journey, from a toddler performing at the Annual Day celebrations to becoming the Best All Rounder and House Captain upon passing out of Class XI in 1978, my time at St. Angela Sophia Hr. Sec. School, Jaipur, has been a truly transformative experience that has shaped me into the person I am today, and I proudly call it my alma mater.
Remembering my early days: As a proud second-generation Sophian (my mother having graduated from Sophia Ajmer), I was fortunate to experience the nurturing guidance of the Irish Nuns from Ajmer, who instilled in me the values of compassion and discipline. I cherish the memories of Sr. Monica's genuine concern for my well-being and Sr. Patricia's playful yet firm approach to keeping us focused during recess. Growing up at SAS was a transformative experience that struck the perfect balance between structure and care, shaping me into the academic leader I am today - one who embodies empathy, compassion, and a commitment to excellence.
Holistic Development: The school empowered me to explore my passions and talents, from dance (Visharad in Kathak & performing folk artist) and theater to debating and sports (represented Basketball at National level 5 times & an avid mountaineer who's been a part of expeditions to Kumaon, Garwhal & Sikkim Himalays), and I am grateful for the opportunities that helped me become a confident, self-assured individual. Thanks to my parents' unwavering support, I was encouraged to take risks, participate in new experiences, and develop a sense of self-reliance that has served me well throughout my journey.
Gratitude:Can't put into words the feeling when someone compliments me for any personality attribute & I proudly say that I owe it all to my parents & my school!
Academic Development: I'm grateful to my forward-thinking parents and supportive teachers, who empowered me to build a strong scientific foundation. This paved the way for me to pursue my passion for Literature, becoming a teacher by choice and completing my BEd and MEd. Embracing lifelong learning, I furthered my education with an MBA in HR and ultimately achieved my dream of earning a PhD in English Literature.
Professional Growth & Accolades:Today, I stand proud and humbled, reflecting on 38 remarkable years in education, with 32 years as Head of esteemed cbse schools across India. My journey has been marked by prestigious awards including the Dronacharya Samman, Avantika Awards, Siksha Ratna Samman, Sandipani Vishishth Gurujan Samman, Nari Shakti Samman, the CBSE National Award to Teachers 2013 & recently Lifetime AchievementAward at World School Summit, Bangkok, Lifetime Achievement Award by Vidya Vaibhav at Ananta, Udaipur. Several Government and Non-Government organizations have felicitated me for outstanding contribution in the field of education, the latest being from IIHM, Rocksport, NSA, Brainfeed, ISA Dubai, Asian Academy of Arts & International Women’s Film Forum, GSLC , My FM, World School Summit, Nari Shakti & Vidya Vaibhav celebrating my dedication to empowering young minds. As a lifelong learner, I continue to engage in workshops, conferences, and seminars to stay updated on the latest educational trends. In addition to scores of articles in various journals and newspapers, I have authored G.K. series for Classes I-VIII and English Assignment series for IX-XII.
Lifelong Learner:I am a keen traveler, who’s been a part of educational trips in India & abroad (Bali, Japan, Vietnam, Norway, Sweden, Canada) to have an insight into various educational practices.
Way Forward:I believe that every challenge presents an opportunity for growth, and I am committed to inspiring positive change in the lives of my students and community.I strongly believe that God gives His hardest battles to his toughest soldiers! So, keep going…
